The frontier
Picture London’s tutoring scene a few years back. On every high street, the big tutoring-centre ranches were doing a roaring trade. Each evening, pupils were rounded up, driven through the gates by the dozen and penned into rows of desks. Same worksheet. Same clock on the wall. Next.

The herd
Our founders had seen it from both sides of the fence. PGCE-qualified, with more than 30 years in classrooms and tutoring between them, they watched bright students herded along like sheep. Nobody asked what a child actually didn’t understand. Nobody checked which exam boardThe organisation that sets and marks the exam, such as AQA, Edexcel or OCR. Each has its own syllabus. they sat. And parents paid for the privilege.

A line in the dust
So they drew a line in the dust. No pens. No herds. No one-size-fits-all worksheets. Just a qualified teacher sitting down with one student, or a small posse of up to five, working from a plan written for that child and that exam.

The town today
Word travelled the way it does at the school gate. Today Brainhub® has 130+ tutors, seven London hubs and students learning online right across the country. The rule hasn’t changed: every student gets a teacher who knows their name, their exam board and the grade they’re aiming for.
No herds. Just good teaching.
